Krav Maga Devon & Cornwall's IKMF School. Krav Maga is Hebrew and means Contact Combat. It is one of the most effective forms of self defence available. The system was developed in post WWII Isreal and continues to be tried and tested by Isreals Defence Forces. It is this which separates Krav Maga from other forms of self defence as it is frequently updated and can be relied upon to be effective in real life situations. In recent years Krav Maga have become popular with Military and Police Departments throughout the world. Krav Maga has become adapted and made available to civilians and at present there are three ‘styles’ practiced: Military, Law enforcement and Civilian. These vary in their goals/objectives but retain the same core principles. Krav Maga is easy to learn, practical and extremely effective as self defence for women and men alike.
